The Bible Society aims to promote Bible engagement and literacy through its Read and Learn initiative. This initiative comprises two projects, the Bible-based literacy project and the Bibles for Grade 7 learners project, both aimed specifically at children.
Both these projects have been approved by the South African Revenue Service as Section 18A public benefit activities. Businesses, organisations and trusts that support these projects through their financial contributions can deduct such contributions from their taxable income.
Please note that the tax exemption is only applicable to businesses, organisations and trusts and not individual donors.
