Mary Jones

The Bible Society movement began with Mary Jones, a young Welsh girl who wanted a Bible. Mary was born at a time when Bibles were very scarce and expensive and from a young age she longed for a Bible of her own. At the age of 15 and after years of saving, she travelled on foot for about 40 km to buy a Bible.
